JACOB EBY (/CHRISTIAN EBY / ANDREAS EBY ) was born 1745 in Manheim Twp. Lancaster Co. , Pennsylvania.

He died 01 Sep 1807 in Georgetown, Frederick Co., Maryland.

He married ANNA MARIA (MARY) RENNER 06 Aug 1799 in Georgetown, Frederick Co. Maryland.

She was born Abt. 1779 in probably Maryland,

She died Aft. 1807 in Frederick Co., Maryland.

Anna Maria Renner

We can only speculate on the origin of Anna Maria Renner.

The nucleus of the Maryland Renner family seems to have resided in the Woodsboro district of Frederick , the patriarch being William Renner found in the 1790 census record. Some verifiable sources record William's birth in Germany, 1742. His death is recorded as 1793, Woodsboro, Frederick , Maryland. His wife was Mary Hafer.

Mary Renner appears in the 1800 Maryland Frederick Census living next door to the Christian Eby family. She is recorded incorrectly as Mary Tenner. She would be head of household because of William's death in 1793.

To this date his only verifiable son of William was Abraham, born 1768, Frederick, Maryland.

Some sources list other children as:
John
William
Katie (Possibly Susan Catharine)
Annie (Possibly Anna Maria)
Daniel

It is possible that a son Jacob should be included. The 1830 census records a Jacob Renner (b. 1787) living in close proximity to Emanuel Eby. The 1850 and 1860 census records show a Susan Renner (b. 1759) living with Emanuel Eby.

Other sources claim that Anna's father was Daniel Wrenner. Daniels' origin is never stated in these sources.

Jacob Eby and Georgetown, Frederick County

There are many references to a Georgetown, Frederick County in the history of the Eby family. Until about 1776 Frederick County included most of the area of what are now Washington and Montgomery counties. At that time Washington DC, the present location of Georgetown, was still a part of Montgomery County.
