EMANUEL EBY (/ JACOB EBY / CHRISTIAN EBY / ANDREAS EBY ) was born 05 Jan 1800 in Georgetown, Frederick Co., Maryland.

He died 21 Sep 1875 in Sabillasville, Maryland.

He married CATHERINE SHANK Abt. 1825.

She was born 24 May 1801.

She died 15 Jan 1882 in Sabillasville, Maryland.

Notes: "Emanuel Eby's mother, Anna Maria Renner apparently died when he was a young child according to my Eby relatives in Maryland, so he was raised by Susan Renner, Anna Maria's sister. Susan was living in Emanuel Eby's home also at the time of the 1850 census. She was 91and the time and lived to the age of 95 years. - I have an old hand blown glass pitcher with her initials etched on front which was made especially for her and given to her by her brother before the Revolutionary War. I have had this in my care since 1941." ****** Joan DeVilbiss *******

Emanuel's father, Jacob, died when Emanuel was 7 years old. His mother apparently died also, while he was a young child. He was apparently raised by Susan Renner, his aunt. She was the sister of Anna Maria Renner Eby, Emanuel's mother.

The 1850 Federal Census of Woodsboro District # 11, Frederick county, Maryland shows the following in Emanuel Eby's household:
