General Affidavit

State of Maryland
County of Baltimore

In the matter of application of Zachariah Alban for service Pension War 1812 No. 33,236

Personally came before me, a justice of the Peace in and for aforesaid County and State, Henry Alban, aged 76 years
citizen of the town of Grave Run, county of Baltimore, state of Maryland,
well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who, being duly sworn, declare in relation to aforesaid case, as follows:

That he is a son of George Alban and Mary Alban and a brother of Zachariah Alban the said claimant.

That he knows that the said George Alban, father of this deponent and said Zachariah Alban was drafted in the war of 1812-1814 and that said George Alban went into the service first.

Then his mother Mary was confined and his said brother Zachariah went down to Baltimore and his father George Alban came, said Zachariah going in as said George Alban's substitute and some time after that and while his said brother Zachariah was still in the service a prep was made and the said George Alban father said Zachariah was taken by the prep and compelled to go in again to the service and this deponent knows that both said George Alban and said Zachariah Alban were away from home and in the service at the same time in 1814.

Does not think his said father drew a land warrant or a pension but knows that my mother the aforesaid Mary Alban obtained a land warrant and that a certain Daniel Hoover of Hampstead Carroll Co did, acted as her agent or attorney in getting it. That he sold said land warrant for his mother to the said Daniel Hoover and received the money for her and paid it over to her.

Thinks his father has been dead 38 or 40 years.

That he knows of no other Zachariah Alban except the aforesaid applicant that was living in 1814. That there are two of the same name now who are nephews but were not born till long after 1814.

That his said mother died about 16 or 17 years ago and thinks his mother's PO was Grave Run Baltimore Co Maryland.
and he further declare that he has no interest in said case and is not concerned in its prosecution.
